About
Why Tell Me Again exists
A lot is said in an appointment, often when you’re worried or there’s a lot to take in. By the time you get home, much of it has gone. Tell Me Again lets you hear it once and read it again.
What it does
- Records your appointment on your phone, with permission, and tells you if the phone can’t hear well.
- Writes down what was said, so you can read it back and correct it.
- Explains it in plain English, in the style you choose: quick, full, easy read, for family, or next steps only.
- Forgets everything when you close the page. You decide what to keep.
Works with Show Me Where
Tell Me Again comes from the people who make Show Me Where: free 3D pictures your doctor or nurse can use to show you where something is in the body.
In the room
Show Me Where helps you see what they mean: where it is, what it means and what treatment involves.
At home
Tell Me Again helps you remember what they said, and share it with the people helping you.
Use them together: ask your doctor or nurse to show you where, and record the explanation to read again later.
Where it’s going
This is an early version, being tested with pretend appointments. In this preview, the recording is turned into text by a service in the United States. The full version will keep everything in the UK, from your phone to the speech service and back, before anyone uses it for a real appointment.
Before it opens to everyone it will also have a full privacy and safety review. You can follow how it’s going on this site.
What it isn’t
Tell Me Again is a memory aid. It isn’t a medical record, it doesn’t give medical advice and it doesn’t replace talking to your healthcare team. See not medical advice.
